This region is made up of five provinces in the center of the Iberian peninsula which are an integral part of Spanish identity: Toledo, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara and Albacete. With nearly 80,000 sq. kilometers (32,000 sq. miles), it is one of Spain's largest regions.

La Mancha is a succession of surprisingly different landscapes, ranging from the plains, evoking images of Don Quijote and windmills, to the rugged beauty of its sierras, Alcaraza, Montes de Toledo, Guadalajara and Cuenca, where wild boars, bears, deer, bucks and chamois live in a natural setting.
