• Positive: Room 33 is a charming, sunny single room overlooking the garden courtyard. It has red and white toile de jouy curtains and bedspread, and the bathroom is clean. It is on the quiet side of the main building. Having a breakfast in bed and listening to the birds, with the windows open and the sun streaming in, was heaven.
• Negative: The garden triple room is gloomy and charmless. The furnishings resemble a third rate motel. The curtains need to remain drawn for privacy. The bathroom is unrenovated and stained with mould. Other rooms vary in attractiveness. Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard.

• Cleanliness: 7.5 Some bathrooms need renovating
• Location: 10 In the 9th arrondissement; Cafe Mignon in next street has excellent home cooked food, and is not expensive and great local bar atmosphere, children welcomed.
• Common facilities and services: 7.5 Wifi, internet, tea/coffee on request, international calls can be made from room, garden a sanctuary in otherwise urban paris.
• Staff: 10
• Quietness: 7.5 Rooms overlooking courtyard are quiet, rooms overlooking street have more noise.
• Room: 7.5 Room 33 was gorgeous, other rooms vary, garden triple room needs renovating.
• Value for money: 10 Wonderful feel of old world parisian comfort. Nothing bleak, beige, angular or plastic in sight.
