• Negative: When we arrived the staff person was a woman who could not help haul the luggage up. But ther eare often male staff members who are very helpful.

• Location: 10 Ten minute walk to Notre Dame. Five minute walk to key metro stop. Very central. Good base for touring.
• Common facilities and services: 5 This former monastery has eleven rooms on four floors. it%27s a walk-up on a narrow, spiral staircase. very charming but not for everyone. the double rooms are very small but have high ceilings with beams and antique furniture. When the taxi drops you off if it%27s during a busy time of day they can leave you off just a block away. but when you leave for hte airport, especially if it%27s early, the taxi can pick you up at the door and bring your luggage down. the staff makes the arranemetns. there is a staff person at the desk 24/7. this is above a cafe and at night there is cafe noise but i slept fine. being able to throw open the huge windows and be a part of Paris makes it worth it. We were a group of three woman each with a sepraate room and we felt very safe and felt like we were living in Paris!

• Location: 10 Very easy access to several metro and train lines including metro line 1, which serves many places of interest in Paris. Also many places of interest within walking distance. Very god location.
• Common facilities and services: 7.5 Narrow stairs to be climbed carrying suitcases may not be the best option for mature/elderly travellers
• Staff: 10 Very friendly and helpfull staff; English-speaking staff was a big plus.
• Quietness: 5 Some noice from church bells on the higher floors, expecialy on the Saturday but we found this quite charming (as well as to be expected in a converted church)
• Room: 7.5 Rooms somewhat small but very charming Quite a few light bulbs needed changing
• Value for money: 7.5 Would have appreciated bath robes and slippers in room
