• Common facilities and services: 7.5 Did not eat at the hotel, but did use the free computers on the 1st level.
• Staff: 7.5 Spoke decent-enough English to help us out and answer any questions or problems we had.
• Quietness: 10 BUT--only because we were advised to request a "rear" room in the hotel. The hotel is just steps from the Plaza del Sol, so noise can be heard throughout the night. By being in the "back," we didnt hear a peep--even with the Champions League (soccer) final between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in Madrid the weekend we were in town and TONS of Gernam and Italian soccer fans in the city.
• Room: 7.5 A bit on the small side, but the bathroom was huge. Bed took up a lot of the space, but we managed. Nice sized closet with a safe and several shelves. Also had a mini bar (with a not very cold fridge), desk, flat screen TV (no English TV stations, though) and a few windows. Since we were in the "rear," though, we didnt have any view. But traded view for silience.
• Value for money: 7.5 Must have been the weekend we were there b/c hotels in Madrid were scarce and overpriced, but it was decent. Paid nearly $500 for 3 nights, but a lot of that was because of the timing of our trip (soccer, EU conference, etc.) and the primo location. You cannot get much closer to the center of everything than this hotel.

• Negative: El lavabo de la habitación olia mal. Las habitaciones estan poco aisladas del ruido, desde los pisos altos se escuchan la conversaciones de los peatones. Cierre de calefacción en una època en que aún hace frio.
