The Hotel Real first opened its doors to the public on 13 July 1917, and the King arrived in Santander by sea on 27 July of that same year. As he entered the bay and approached the shore, he could make out the stately white Hotel Real.
All rooms and suites are spacious and full of light. Most have preserved the original furniture, whilst incorporating the comfort of modern conveniences to be expected of a luxury hotel.
