Highly recommended. My son and I stayed for a week in early March. We each had our own spacious and well appointed apartments. The location was phenomenal; just a short walk to anywhere we wanted to go, including the train station. Francesca is an incredibly gracious host, she’s there for you should you need anything. Apartments were bright, clean and comfortable. We were glad we made the choice we did and I’ll definitely be staying there again next time I visit.

This is how to travel: Get an apartment right across the street from the most iconic sculpture in the world, Let it be near everything, add a few truly memorable restaurants a few steps away. Live like an Italian instead of a tourist in a room. There's a fully equipped kitchen. Missing something you need? ask Francesca. There's a nice big bathroom with hot water that works and big towels. Sleep in peace in the quiet of a back apartment that overlooks a garden. Relax in a real living room. We did just that for seven nights, not nearly long enough to see all the sights and museums, but long enough to feel like a resident. And! her husband Nicola will come and get you at the airport (for a fee, but it's worth it) and take you to the door on a street where no vehicular traffic is allowed. I'm a happy traveler.

The Palazzo Alfani al David was a great place for our visit to Florence. The window opens right over the entrance to the Academia across the street. Be warned, there is a line of people making noise during the day outside your window (we napped to an accordion player one afternoon). We were on the third floor so it didn't bother us, we enjoyed people watching. The place is great. It is clean with a lot of space including a sitting area and a kitchen. We got breakfast included. This was not on the premises, but just a short walk to a café. The breakfast was more than we expected in an Italian breakfast (cappuccino, juice, pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit). Francesca was great, making sure we had everything we needed and that we liked our room. She lives on the first floor and is available if there is anything you need. She left a guide book with great tips and excellent suggestions (we loved the Ristorante Accademia and Carabe's has incredible pistachio Gelato and delicious fresh made cannoli).
