Hotel Majestic is located on the Paseo de Gracia, the most prestigious avenue in the heart of Barcelona, next to Gaudi's Casa Batlló and the Pedrera, the most elegant boutiques, and very close to the Ramblas and the Plaza de Catalunya. Since 1918 its neoclassic facade has invited guests to discover its luxurious rooms and excellent service, which have earned the hotel the 5* Diamond Award 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. It has a swimming pool, a terrace with panoramic views, a fitness center, Wi-Fi, a piano bar and two restaurants, including El Drolma, winner since 2002 of 1 Star in the prestigious Michelin Guide.

  • Room: Not rated this was ridiculous: with the excuse that the hotel was full, we were given a single room, when we had booked a double. the room was ridiculously small: two people can not walk around the bed at the same time.

  • Negative: Wet spa was closed - this is the reason I had gone, and there was no note on internet when I booked warning me of this. Rooftop was closed for private use when I arrived. Pool was tiny. Room was like Holiday Inn, products were cheap. I expected more for the price.

  • Positive: Th location is perfect to go anywhere. I also liked the spa.
  • Negative: The front staff were not as helpful as they could have been. I asked one question to 3 front staff and on the third attempt I got the help I needed. It seemed the first 2 guys wanted to pass the buck. (Maybe laziness or a pain for them to answer questions)

  • Positive: This was a one night stay prior to our cruise the following day. It was a perfect location to start our journey. When we returned to Barcelons 1 week later and our plane was delayed the hotel allowed us to store our bags and relax even though we were not then guests

  • Staff: 10 All staff are pleasant and very well trained. It was a pleasure to start off our holiday in this hotel
  • Quietness: 10 The bar off the main reception is a haven of peace with excellent service
  • Room: 10 The room was everything we expected and the bed was comfortable and air conditioned
  • Value for money: 10 This is a very luxurious but it was quite reasonable for a special occasion. We went out to eat in the many restaurants around and the hotel was happy to recommend restaurants
