August/2013 Someone from Staffordshire, UK thinks:

  • Overall rating: 0.9
  • Would you recommend it? No
  • Positive: The relative closeness to Pine Walk. Some of the evening meals.
  • Negative: The surly reception staff lacking any empathy and unwilling to compromise; The dreadful online booking process (which failed to recognise a child on the booking form); The price; The evening entertainment (far too many below-average amateur shows with little or no worthwhile content); The female entertainment staff; The truly dreadful tired old rooms in need of refurbishment (a useless, cheap kitchen taking up space and hanging off the wall, the almost broken refrigerator, chipped and old wooden furniture, dirty mattresses, awful pillows); The lack of useful kitchen facilities in the room (e.g. cutlery, glasses); The view from the balcony (mountain view? It was actually an industrial building obscuring a mountain); The misleading web-site; The additional charges for anything other than the room itself (safe, fridge); The fact the accommodation makes out that it's a 3-star hotel when it's still an aparthotel with tired old facilities left in situ that cannot be used; The overcooked food and empty buffet hot-plates; The near-constantly dirty plates, bowls and cutlery at breakfast and dinner; The cardboard towels; The morning 'race' to 'reserve' poolside space and sun-loungers; The same dirty plastic chairs (covered with sun-tan creams and oils) used during the evening without any cushions or other coverings (consequently ruining clean attire); The tired reception area. Need I go on...?
  • I RECOMMEND it for...
  • I recommend it especially AGAINST... Young travelers, Older travelers, Couples, Luxury, Peace seekers, Classic style lovers, Modern style lovers, Budget travelers, Business travelers, Healthy lifestyle
  • Cleanliness: 5 The same dirty plastic chairs (covered with sun-tan creams and oils) used during the evening without any cushions or other coverings (consequently ruining clean attire); The near-constantly dirty plates, bowls and cutlery at breakfast and dinner.
  • Location: 2.5 The view from 25% of the balconies (mountain view? It was actually an industrial building obscuring a mountain); The closeness to Pine Walk was useful, however.
  • Common facilities and services: 2.5 The overcooked food and empty buffet hot-plates; The evening entertainment (far too many below-average amateur shows with little or no worthwhile content); The dreadful online booking process (which failed to recognise a child on the booking form); The cardboard towels; The morning 'race' to 'reserve' poolside space and sun-loungers; The tired reception area.
  • Staff: 2.5 The surly reception staff lacking any empathy and unwilling to compromise; The female entertainment staff.
  • Quietness: 5 No worse or better than anywhere else we've stayed.
  • Room: Not rated The truly dreadful tired old rooms in need of refurbishment (a useless, cheap kitchen taking up space and hanging off the wall, the almost broken refrigerator, chipped and old wooden furniture, dirty mattresses, awful pillows); The lack of useful kitchen facilities in the room (e.g. cutlery, glasses);
  • Value for money: Not rated The additional charges for anything other than the room itself (safe, fridge); The fact the accommodation makes out that it's a 3-star hotel when it's still an aparthotel (with tired old facilities left in situ that cannot be used); The misleading web-site which does NOT process bookings correctly.
