• Positive: Simple, reasonable priced hotel.
• Negative: The hotel moved me from room to room without my approval. I assume they did this because they then could rent my current room to someone else. The process around this was not smooth at all and destroyed part of my stay in Paris. When I tried to discuss it with the person in the reception who suddenly had moved all my stuff to a different room, he spoke so poorly English that he misunderstood what I said - he decided I had called him something bad even though I had not, and then he threatened me. Fortunately we found a different hotel - not easy in Paris mid july and expensive to pay for two hotels as hotel Practic only gave us a refund for one night (they should have refunded us for three nights) - and moved to it the next day and this saved the remaining part of the trip(two days).

• Positive: The location of the Practic is wonderful: within easy walking distance are plentiful restaurants, metros, Notre Dame, La Bastille, and all of the wonders of Le Marais. The breakfasts were very generous. Although we tried, we could never finish what was served us.
• Negative: The rooms were small and our room overlooked the square, which was noisy late into the night. Not a bad noisy--jovial and chatty--but it made it difficult to sleep before midnight.
