This is unquestionably one of the loveliest hotels I’ve stayed in; very boutique-esque abd right in the heart of Madrid .

• Cleanliness: 7.5 The whole hotel was clean. However, work was being done in the corridor and there was a strong chemical smell of, I think, carpet glue that lasted awhile.
• Location: 10 Right by Puerta del Sol

• Staff: 7.5 Staff was friendly, but unable to figure out a way to cool the stuffy room.
• Quietness: 2.5 I could hear the people in the room next to me, though they weren't loud.
• Room: 2.5 As mentioned, the room was very stuffy and there was no fan or cooling system. I called down twice to see if the room could be made cooler, but to no avail. I ended up spending all three nights sleeping above the covers with no sheets or blankets covering me. I also had to ask for soap/gel, as none was provided when I arrived or after the room was cleaned. The room looked out on an air shaft that provided no breeze. Directly across the airshaft was the window of another room's bathroom. Though the window was "pebbled" and obscured, I was still clearly able to tell a large woman had completely undressed. More needs to be done to ensure privacy.
• Value for money: 2.5 I expected that a three-star hotel would be able to cool a stuffy room somehow. This was the last - and most expensive room by far - on my ten-week vacation in S. Spain and it was the worst.
