• Negative: the room stank of cigarette smoke and we weren%27t offered an alternative when we complained

• Cleanliness: 2.5 Room stank of cigarettes - I think it was the carpet. Hotel was supposed to be completely non smoking. Cigarette burns on the windowsills, mould behind the curtains on the wall, towels smelt musty. However, the room, bed sheets and bathroom were otherwise cleaned to a high standard.

• Staff: 7.5 Staff were pleasant and polite. There was always someone at reception.
• Quietness: 5 It was in a fairly busy location but double glazing meant the room was quiet once windows were shut.
• Room: 5 A good sized basic room. Bathroom had a hairdryer, and there was a small flat screen TV. No coffee-making facilities or other amenities, but the hotel was so close to cafes and shops it didn%27t matter.
• Value for money: 5 Room was cheap for Paris but I%27ll go elsewhere next time - the smell ruined it for me.
