    Christmas in Barcelona: a multicultural lighting

    On 2 December at 18.10h, the phrase “Merry Christmas” in Russian, French, Arabic, German and other languages, along with the rest of the light decoration, will turn on the Christmas lights of Barcelona. Especially will illuminate the main shopping areas, but this year have been added streets as Gran Via, Balmes or Aragó.     The district El Raval in Barcelona, next to Las Ramblas, is perhaps the most representative of the city and its cosmopolitan part. In this place there is one original bar La Concha, which has as an icon the singer Sara Montinel.

    Surely many of you have heared on of her famous songs: “Siempre que te pregunto / que, cuándo, cómo y dónde / tú siempre me respondes / quizás, quizás, quizás” because Sara’s Montiel voice has immortalized this song and one of her fans is the owner of this small musical bar in the heart of the old Chinese quarter of Barcelona, now called El Raval. And the whole inside of La Concha is literally upholstered with hundreds of pictures of the Spanish diva of the melody.
